I established Blue Ribbon Accounting in 2010 out of a desire to bring accounting back to the people. My mission is for every one of my clients to feel comfortable and confident with their own knowledge of their tax affairs, as well as with my management of them.

After graduating in 2007 from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business (with an extended major in Accountancy), I worked for three years in a large public firm.

I provided tax, compliance and advice services to a huge variety of clients ranging from individuals through nationally recognised brands. During my time there, I also completed my Graduate Diploma in Chartered Accounting (Grad Dip. CA).

I found more and more of my friends (some with small businesses of their own) were approaching me looking for advice or assistance - wanting services at a reasonable price point from an accountant that they liked and trusted.

I also found myself battling more and more with the 'traditional' constraints of being an accountant - business suits, long hours, lack of flexibility, and the strange industry belief that prestige arrives when the client comes to see you on your terms.

Wanting to make a difference on my own terms, I established Blue Ribbon Accounting in 2010 to give people back ownership of their tax affairs by offering them:

• Reasonably and clearly priced services, structured to match the real world (I did not want to price gouge people by charging 'per line item')

• Integrated bookkeeping and accounting (the ability to take your business from bank statement to tax return while staying cost effective)

In 2020 I completed the CPA Program and Public Practice Program, and in late 2021 Blue Ribbon Accounting was accepted as a CPA Public Practice. This allows me to further expand my offering and gives me access to significant training and education resources to keep my knowledge up to date.

I'm now well over ten years into my career as an accountant - three years to start out in a big firm, and ever since, operating Blue Ribbon Accounting. I'm still just as dedicated now as I was when I started out. It remains my aim to give every client of Blue Ribbon Accounting convenience and confidence in their tax affairs.

CPA PUBLIC PRACTICE

Blue Ribbon Accounting is now a CPA Public Practice, and Jen is a member of CPA Australia. This means we can now broaden our service offering to you, but is also an indication of the ongoing improvements that Jen takes to continue to build the firm as a high quality service provider.
