Annual Life Update!

A bit belated this year as we’ve been powering through getting stuff done, but Jacqui the brains of the scheduling outfit keeps nagging me to get my blog post done so we can update the links in our signatures!

Looking back through the photos, a remarkably large amount of stuff has happened in the last 12 months, not least the incredible growing up that Chooky has done! Now 2.5 years old, I didn’t realise how different she was until I looked back at photos from last July.

Last year in August, Kate had major neck surgery, so that took us a while to get through and past during tax season. We were also each doing 1 full day per week of looking after Chooky - this moved to 1 day per fortnight from Feb 2025 which made a huge difference to my available working hours and productivity.

We turned two, got our first bicycle and scooter (it only took 3 months for her to be convinced that you have to DO UP the helmet if you want to go outside the house, and now she’s scooting around the park like she owns the place!) and enjoyed Christmas and Easter so much more with her starting to understand the occasions and get involved in the games and traditions.

The first of many discussions about the helmet

We absolutely adore ballet class!

We’ve also started ballet classes, which is possibly the cutest thing that’s ever existed in the world.

We’ve had visits from Grand Dude and Grand Kat (who live in New Zealand), and we can now count 1 to 20 and know our whole alphabet!

On my side, I’ve done some more study, though I’ve deferred for the current semester to give myself a breather and catch up a little.

I also ran a half marathon in June (the first 12k went GREAT, the last 9k got progressively worse) and I’m currently training for the Bridge to Brisbane in September! Kate has started Crossfit this year, and 2.5 years into baby life it’s starting to feel like we might just have our heads above water (touch wood, touch wood).

From a business perspective, my goals this year are all around response time and productivity - I’m aiming not to drown, and to actually feel proactive and productive!

To finish off, there’s a little gallery of more photos below.
